Ishida Yukio (石田幸雄)

Yukio ISHIDA (August 3, 1949 -) is a Kyogen performer of Izumi school for Kyogen-kata, belonging to the Mansaku NOMURA family. He was born in Tokyo. While he was still a high school student, he learned under Mansaku NOMURA. He was designated as the general holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property.

Summary
He is one of the important performers in the kyogen performance group 'Mansaku no kai' lead by Mansaku NOMURA. His performance is bold and precise, and has already performed on a lot of distinguished stages. In 2001, he set up a group of Noh and Kyogen players 'So no kai' with Ryuzo TAZAKI of Hosho school. He was adjunct instructor to College of Art of Nihon University and Gakushuin University.

Performance records

In 1976, he made a debut in 'Kusabira' (mushrooms). In 1987, he performed 'Tsuri kitsune' (Fox Trapping).
